How Llabtoof works
Everything you need to know to start predicting.
1. Create or join a league
A league is a group of people predicting the same competition. Pick from our supported competitions when you create one - e.g. the Premier League - and it's not just professional competitions either, so you can follow a specific hockey club's own fixtures too. Start one from Home by picking a sport and competition, or join a friend's league using the invite code they share with you. Each league gets its own leaderboard, so the same person can be in as many leagues as they like.
2. Pick a team name
When you create or join a league you can give yourself a team name, shown on that league's leaderboard instead of your real name. Leave it blank and we'll pick one for you. You can change it any time from the league page - look for the pencil icon next to your name in the Members list.
3. Predict the score
On each league's page, fill in a score for every upcoming fixture in the current round. Predictions can be changed as many times as you like right up until 1 hour before the start of the match, when they lock automatically.
If you miss the deadline, we'll fill in a random score for you rather than leaving it blank - it's clearly marked Auto so it's obvious it wasn't your real prediction.
4. Scoring
Once a match finishes, predictions are compared against the real result:

For example, predicting 3-1 when the real score is 2-0 still earns 4 points - you called the right winner and the right goal difference (+2), just not the exact score. Predicting 2-1 for that same 2-0 result earns only 2 points, since the winner's right but the goal difference (+1) isn't. Postponed or cancelled matches don't award points either way.
5. The leaderboard
Points add up round by round. Ties share the same position on the leaderboard (so two people level on points both show as "1st", and the next person down is "3rd") - standard competition ranking, same as you'd see in a golf tournament.
Quick answers
- Can I change my prediction? Yes, as many times as you like until it locks 1 hour before the match starts.
- What if I forget to predict? A random score is auto-filled and marked Auto, so you're never left without a score - though a real prediction is always your best shot at points.
- Can I be in more than one league? Yes - join or create as many as you like, each with its own leaderboard.
- How do I invite friends? Every league has its own invite code, shown at the top of the league page. Share it and they can join from Home.
